In order to make sure that our research task was carried out effectively, and that we would be able to benefit from this. Me and Jasmit decided to research on representation of women as our independant studies are based around this issue.
We both deicded to look at Laura Mulveys 'Male Gaze' theory in depth so we could relate what she thinks back to our text.

I found this link which explains what the gaze really is. This will be usuful to help with my text as i am foccussing on Becky. In kidulthood, it feels as if everythign that Becky does, is all for a purpose. And this pupose seems as though she is only there to entertain males.

This is another link which also helps indertsand Laura Mulvey's thory. I personally think taht she will be a Theorist who i should include in my independant study because of the fact that Becky is seen as everything that the male gaze is about.

As well as this, we also decided to look at Represenation of women as a whole in the way that they are represented in films etc. This is through the way they act, dress and come across to one another and the audience.
